CELEBRATING WOMEN IN ARCHITECTURE
– Stories of collaboration, diversity and care

Join us, as we celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8, at 14.00 CET on Zoom! We would like to spend this special day with you trying to expand and nuance the interpretation of how architecture comes to life.

FACEBOOK EVENT

WOMEN IN DANISH ARCHITECTURE 1925-75 invite you to listen in, when researchers from Denmark and abroad share six stories about women who, by working together, have contributed to changing and developing architecture. These are women, who have played or still play an important role in the 20th century architecture in countries like Denmark, USA, England and Lebanon. Yet, we know little about their contributions.

About the seminar

Our event will not portray architects as individual and primarily male ‘creative geniuses’, ‘starchitechts’, or ‘masters’, as architecture history traditionally has done. Instead, we will demonstrate how people of different genders, disciplines, and backgrounds have formed the interieur designs, buildings, cities, and landscapes, we live in today. And we will celebrate architecture as a diverse practice, shaped by collaborations and consideration of people and the environment.

Sign in, as we explain how focusing on collaborations within the architectural disciplines can provide a more accurate understanding of architectural creation. And how it can help throw light on the overlooked female contributors to architecture history.
