In a basement in Frederiksberg, there is a treasure trove that few people know about. Here, archivist Tina Lund maintains a unique collection: 100 years of landscape architecture photographs, drawings, newspaper clippings, and plans. Tina Lund has published an article in the magazine REVY about her experiences in the archive.

In her article for REVY, “Skjult i samlingen,” Tina Lund relates how she has developed a historical treasure trove of landscape architecture in Frederiksberg, and why she believes that such a collection is important now, in 2022. Among other things, she asks herself whether there is a gender bias in the collection—a question born from her collaboration with our project.

Agnete Muusfeldt was hiding in our collection, and she helped to make me more aware of the invisible and untold narratives that can hide among a library’s mainstream narratives.” (Translated quote from the article)

On the Trail of Agnete Muusfeldt

Tina Lund’s experience in the archive will spark recognition among architectural historians who deal with architectural works that have never found their way into official archives and which often only appear in the margins of books on architectural history, if they even appear at all. Like Tina Lund, we have to minutely inspect the archives in new ways in order to find traces of contributors across genders, backgrounds, and disciplines—contributors that traditional architectural history has simply overlooked, for various reasons.
